Utility / Energy Industry Applications
Power utilities and alternative-energy industries implement data and communications networks for remote telemetry, control, data acquisition and other support functions. As these networks grow in capacity, sophistication and pervasiveness, mismatches between power requirements for network equipment and the type of power available at a certain facility or on a particular vehicle are increasingly common. Wilmore manufactures DC - DC converters and DC - AC inverters to operate electronic equipment from stationary and vehicular battery systems, with the flexibility to be configured as primary or back-up/redundant power sources.
Our involvement in the utility/energy industry began over 30 years ago, powering remote telemetry for power-line-carrier systems for substations. A few examples are briefly discussed below. If your particular application is not represented here, please contact us by email, telephone, or fax using the information shown on this page. We probably have had experience with applications similar to yours.
Microwave and UHF/VHF Radio Equipment
Powering microwave and UHF/VHF radio equipment from 130-volt and 48-volt substation battery systems usually requires voltage conversion and electrical isolation from the DC power bus. Wilmore offers DC - DC converters at several different power levels to provide a regulated and isolated 12, 24, 48 or 130 VDC output from utility battery plants.
