DC - DC Converters: Mobile and Stationary Applications
Wilmore DC - DC converters for mobile applications power all types of 12-volt and 24-volt electronic equipment on construction and maintenance vehicles, forklifts, industrial vehicles, transit buses and rail vehicles.
Our DC - DC power converters for 74-volt and 110-volt railroad locomotives and 24-volt and 36-volt rail/transit vehicles are transient protected and mechanically rugged. We can provide converters to operate a variety of DC-powered on-board electronics with power requirements from a few watts to several hundred watts.
For stationary (fixed location) applications such as communications network installations and railroad track-side (wayside) sites, many of the DC-to-DC converters shown here provide output voltage regulation and input-output isolation in addition to voltage conversion.
Examples of our DC - DC converters are shown below. Please scroll down for descriptions of these products and links to the Product Bulletins.

74V DC Power Conditioner for Locomotives
The Model 1743-74-10 power conditioner is a DC-DC converter that enables nominal 74-volt electronic equipment to operate through wide variations in the locomotive power bus while also providing additional filtering and transient-withstand protection. The converter automatically boosts abnormally low input voltages and limits abnormally high input voltages to within approximately 60 to 80 VDC. At input voltages in the normal operating range between these undervoltage/overvoltage anomalies, the converter provides a filtered and protected output voltage that is directly proportional to its input voltage. Conservative electrical design, very high operating efficiency and rugged mechanical construction make this converter well suited for powering voice/data radios and other sensitive electronic loads in the harsh railroad vehicle environment.
